Haruko Obokata, STAP stem cells
Haruko Obokata (小保方 晴子, born in 1983) is a stem-cell biologist and and the Research Unit Leader of the Laboratory for Cellular Reprogramming at RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology. She developed a radical and remarkably easy way to make cells that can grow into any tissue in the body called STAP (Stimulus-Triggered Acquisition of Pluripotency) cells. However, there are many concerns about her researches.
